We started with manufacturing our
own ICE CREAM and for our trade
name we had it “DUCHESS”…forshort…

easy to remember

with a touch of class.
Our vision is to serve “humanity”
thus we ventured into the
hospitality service of the Tourism
Industries. In 1978 we built an
8-rooms bungalon and in
March 25, 1979 we opened our doors to Foreign Tourist just timely
as “Palawan”
became a “Destination”. Since then
majority of Foreign Tourists called
“backpackers” has cheked-in at
Duchess Pension. As the influx
became positive we built more rooms
having 25 both singles and double at
Duchess Pension. Not only were we
advertised in all the guide books in
foreign and local but mostly by the
“word of mouth” advertisement of our
guest whom we personally assisted to
make their holiday a pleasant,
happy, relaxing and memorable. Four
years later 1983, as God blessing
flowed, we built and opened a “7 –
cottages special interest beach
resort” called Duchess Beachside
Cottage in Tanabag another home base
for our guests. Five years later we
were blessed to purchased beach
properties so we transfered Duchess
Beachside Cottage to San Rafael up
to present. A 45-minute drive on a
cemented highway without traffic to
a beautiful Sulu Sea with mountain
background conducive place to relax
and enjoy nature, ideal place to
stay as base for different tourist
attraction both the East and West of
Central Palawan.
Duchess Pension is now
on a three storey building with
aircon rooms with private toilet
bath, hot and cold showers. Fan
rooms with private toilet bath, hot
and cold showers, function rooms at
the third floor catering in
different needs of our
clients/guests both local and
foreign.
